Cesme Holidays
Cesme is a charming fishing village, now growing into a popular holiday resort retaining its delightfully easy-paced and friendly atmosphere. Believed to have the two best beaches in Turkey, Çesme offers sophisticated hotels and a marina, but the heart of the village is still its main square. The town's small fortress forms a natural focal point, but, leading away from here, the town's squares, markets and museum offer just enough diversions for a pleasant holiday to Turkey which combines a touch of sophistication with an attractive, easy-going atmosphere.
Cesme's hot springs are a delight, as are all of Turkey's natural hot springs – and are said to have therapeutic properties. Whether that's true, who knows, but the springs are wonderfully invigorating, and well worth a visit.
The warm Aegean Sea washes ashore in a couple of blissfully long arcs of sand, and the peninsula's coast road passes many peaceful bays, perhaps dotted with a seafood restaurant or two. The very popular holiday centre of Ilica has the best beach in the region; with fine white sands and lots of great watersports facilities to try.
