Side Holidays
Situated on a peninsula and flanked by two stretches of golden beach, the pretty holiday resort town of Side is a jumble of old and new, with an extensive range of tourist accommodation, shops, late-night bars and restaurants mixed in among the ruins of the ancient city. In the centre of town is the magnificent 2nd-century theatre with beautiful views towards the sea, and the remains of the Roman Baths houses an impressive collection of artefacts.
Side has two fabulous beaches, with the beach to the east of the peninsula reached via a pleasant walk from the old town through historical ruins or by a swift taxi ride. To the west the beaches stretch out around the bay, lined by no end of beach bars and restaurants. Sands are slightly finer, and the water shelves more gently, on the western beach, and, as a result, this is always the busier of the two.
