Holidays in Huelva are also famous for its palm-lined Plaza de las Monjas, which is the perfect spot to relax over a coffee and watch the world go by. The pedestrianised Concepcion to Berdigon is popular with shoppers. Well worth a visit is the 15th-century whitewashed Sanctuario de la Cinta, which was visited by Christopher Columbus, and is located two miles, (three kilometres) out of town. Also of interest is the 19th-century Casa Colon, the grandest building in Huelva, with its wrought iron balconies and terracotta facade.
Evenings in Huelva
Holidays in Huelva are not complete without a visit to one of the many seafood bars or restaurants. Visitors can tuck into locally caught fresh fish and traditional tapas accompanied by local wines. Evenings in Huelva are relatively low-key compared to Sevilla and Granada. Late-night bars can be found lining Calle Pablo Rada, some with live jazz or rock music, and there is also a couple of discos.
