Torrevieja Holidays

The coastal town of Torrevieja lies 31 miles, (50 kilometres) southwest of Alicante. The town is set amongst a protected natural park with two salt lakes. These 'Salterns of Torrevieja' are the largest in Europe and attract more than 250 different species of birds. Holidays in Torrevieja offer access to 12 miles, (20 kilometres) of coastline featuring six large beaches - Cabo Cerver, Los Locos, Los Naufragos, Ferris, El Cura and La Mata.

Torrevieja beaches
Most tourists start their tour of Torrevieja at the harbour. From here, explore the Museum of Sea and Salt, the fish market, and the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Holidays in Torrevieja are particularly popular with Spanish tourists who flock to its fine white-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. All the beaches here have been awarded an EU Blue flag for cleanliness. Strolling along the seaside promenade and fishing port is a popular way to while away an afternoon.

Torrevieja excursions
Every Friday, Torrevieja hosts one of the biggest open-air markets in the whole of Spain. Here visitors will find clothes, local handicrafts and a wealth of fresh local produce. Popular excursions include a fun day out at the Aquapark, cruises along the Alicante coastline, and a trip to the lakes of La Mata and Torrevieja, where visitors can enjoy a regenerative mud bath. Holidays in Torrevieja are also popular with groups of young partygoers. The town boasts more than a hundred bars clustered round the El Baluare area.
