One of the most pleasant things to do in Altea is to start at the highest point of the town - the Plaza de Nuestra Senora del Consuelo church - and marvel at the impressive blue and white dome before working your way down through the winding, narrow streets.

The mountainous landscape of Sierra de Bernia provides a dramatic backdrop to the town and there are plenty of hiking and mountain bike trails you can explore.
