Sidari Holidays
The lively resort of Sidari is situated on Corfu's north coast, 22 miles, (36 kilometres) from Corfu Town. The resort started out as two small coastal villages, (Sidari and Canal D'Amour), located at either end of the long sandy beach. But owing to the huge influx of tourism, the villages merged to form one large resort. Holidays in Sidari are particularly popular with families on package holidays; activities for children include a horse riding club, a bouncy castle, and a couple of arcades.
Holidays in Sidari feature three beaches: the first is a small beach near the old fishing harbour; the second, the main beach, is a long stretch of golden sand dotted with sun beds and umbrellas; and the third is the site of the famous 'Canal D'Amour' with its dramatic eroding cliff faces. Families tend to favour the main beach for its gently sloping sands, calm shallow seas, and oodles of space. Those who tire of sunbathing can rent motorboats or try their hand at jet skiing, paragliding, and scuba diving.
Sidari village features a small picturesque park and local church. Visitor can browse the shops for jewellery and souvenirs. Those staying in self-catering apartments can shop in the many supermarkets. Holidays in Sidari offer a good choice of eateries serving Greek, English, Indian, and Chinese dishes. Evenings are spent enjoying drinks in the multitude of bars, from the traditional Greek to the louder English pub with DJs and karaoke. For those with enough energy, Sidari also offers nightclubs where tourists can dance into the early hours.
