Aghios Georgios Holidays
Rather confusingly, there are two resorts with the name of Aghios Georgios on the island of Corfu. Located on the northwest of Corfu, Aghios Georgios (north) is a small resort and one of the least developed on the island. Holidays in Aghios Georgios (north) feature a beautiful long sweeping sandy shoreline, dotted with hotels, apartments and private villas, set against a breathtaking backdrop of lush green hills clad with olive and cypress trees.
Holidays in Aghios Georgios (north) are particularly popular with those seeking a quiet break centred round beautiful beaches and natural scenery. The beach is packed with fine golden sand and lapped by clean, clear waters. Activities in the area feature a wealth of water sports, including windsurfing, canoeing, and sailing. Aghios Georgios (north) is also an ideal base for exploring the island's capital Corfu Town, 15 miles, (25 kilometres) away, with its picturesque old town of Venetian and French architecture.
Evenings in Aghios Georgios (north) are spent relaxing over drinks in beach bars, dining in traditional tavernas, and dancing in nightclubs. For the ultimate in hectic nightlife, visitors can take a trip to nearby Sidari, six miles, (10 kilometres) away, which is positively bursting with British pubs, English cuisine and all-night partying. Regular buses link the resort with Corfu Town and boats leave the beach heading for Paleokastritsa - one of the most attractive traditional Greek villages on Corfu.
