Arpora Holidays
The peaceful village of Arpora is an oasis of tranquillity. Holidays in Arpora combine beautiful beaches, a bohemian atmosphere, traditional Goan food, chilled-out bars, street markets, beach parties and nearby nightclubs. Beaches include: Calangute beach with its carnivalesque atmosphere and hippy stalls; Baga beach offers clean brown sands and crystal-clear waters; Anjuna beach is renowned for its wild Full Moon parites; and Vagator beach is a paradise of soft white sands fringed with coconut palms and lush green scenery.
Those who fancy a break from sun bathing can indulge in an Indian massage, hire a bike to explore the hidden coves, or visit Goa's capital, Panaji with its colonial Portuguese architecture. Arpora hosts an evening market twice a week, where visitors can enjoy live music and haggle for souvenirs. The former hippy haunt of Anjuna is famous for its flea market, which takes place every Wednesday.
Evenings can be spent watching spectacular sunsets over cocktails in the many beach bars. Arpora offers a series of restaurants, which serve traditional Goan dishes, but if it's choice you're after, Baga and Calangute are packed with eateries. Many restaurants here specialise in locally caught seafood. If you crave bright lights and dancing, there are a number of nightclubs along the Baga - Calangute strip.
