San Agustin Holidays

Canary Islands La Palma is the most recently formed island in the archipelago. It is also the highest island - the tallest point being Roque de Los Muchachos, which measures a massive 2426 metres in height. As one of the quietest and unspoilt of the Canary Islands, La Palma is known for its beautiful landscapes: pine-clad mountains, dramatic volcanoes, black sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, abundance of wildlife, and rich flora and fauna.

Canary Islands Popular excursions on La Palma include exploring hiking and biking trails around the island's rugged coastline as well as scuba diving in Fuencaliente. The more adventurous can embark on the Cumbre Vieja volcano walk. This demanding hike takes you past seven dramatic volcanoes and ends in Los Canarios. La Palma is the most volcanically active of the islands!

Children playing on beach La Palma is bursting with traditional Canarian culture: restaurants serve rustic dishes, including locally caught seafood; evenings are a traditionally Spanish affair with fine food and wine; and shopping consists of small shops selling local handicrafts and fresh produce. Of all the Canary Islands, La Palma isn't suitable for those seeking golden sand beaches and a hectic nightlife, but it does offer breathtaking landscapes and traditional Canarian culture.
