S'Illot Holidays
Set between the resorts of Cala Millor and Porto Cristo, S'illot is located along the east coast of Majorca, 40 miles, (65 kilometres) from the capital, Palma. This traditional fishing village has grown into a popular tourist resort, but still manages to retain its typical Mallorcan character. S'illot's 280-metre-long sandy beach gently shelves into the sea. The beach is particularly popular with families for its flat sands and calm seas.
Those looking for a break from swimming and sunbathing can try their hand at a wealth of water sports, mosey along the pedestrian promenade running north towards Sa Coma, or explore the spectacular Punta de n'Amer - a 200-hectare nature reserve set between Sa Coma and Cala Millor. There are also numerous local markets in the vicinity for the keen-haggler. Fun family days out include a 54-hole mini golf course and a safari zoo on the outskirts of Sa Coma.
S'illot has relatively low-key nightlife and much of it is hotel-based, but there are a few bars and restaurants lining the seafront. Those seeking karaoke bars and all-night dancing will be disappointed with S'illot. Having said that, the neighbouring resort of Cala Millor offers a wider selection of nightlife.
