Ca'n Picafort Holidays
Nestled on the Bay of Alcudia, C'an Picafort, once a small fishing village, is now a well-established resort. Its beautiful beaches, woodland surroundings and picturesque promenade combine to form an irresistibly scenic landscape. C'an Picafort has a wide appeal, especially among families and couples seeking a relaxing retreat.
The two main beaches are set in the Baulo district and are fringed by pine-clad hills and a pretty nature reserve - home to tortoises, rabbits and hedgehogs. Beach-enthusiasts can bask on the sun beds or enjoy water sports and boat trips around the bay. The beachside promenade bustles with bars and restaurants and stretches two kilometres from the modern area of Son Baulo to the charming original fishing harbour. Evening entertainment is a relatively relaxed affair and mainly consists of a good selection of cuisine and a few lively street bars.
Those wishing to explore further a field can venture six miles inland to the historic town of Santa Margalida, which boasts a large collection of archaeological sites - many dating back to pre-Roman times. Alternatively, the winding narrow streets of Alcudia old town are also just six miles away. Located on the northeast coast, C'an Picafort is 37 miles from Palma and approximately a one-and-a-half hour drive from the airport.
